About Me
Welcome to Surrey Yoga Therapy. My name is Vicky Arundel and my mission is simple – to help you discover optimal wellbeing through the healing power of yoga.
Yoga that is specifically tailored to your body, your lifestyle and your needs.
Having myself come to yoga from injury, I have witnessed first-hand yoga’s wonderful capacity to restore and rebalance. But my experience as both student and teacher has also taught me that the best results come from yoga practices that are tailored to the individual.
It’s my belief that we all step onto the yoga mat with unique physical, mental and emotional needs when it comes to finding and maintaining our health.
I became frustrated by the current business model of teaching yoga to huge groups of students. As a teacher it was impossible to create a class that would ensure every student was getting the most out of their practice, let alone keep them safe.
My aim, therefore, is to return to a more personalised and targeted approach to teaching yoga where every student feels seen, heard and taken care of.
My teaching methods are driven by a sincere desire to make yoga practical, accessible and relevant to everybody, no matter your experience, age or health circumstances.
I draw inspiration from a wide-range of different yoga styles and lineages including, but not limited to, Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Viniyoga, Restorative, Yin, Mindfulness Meditation and Yoga Nidra.
I also bring my extensive interest and personal exploration in other movement and health interventions such as somatics, breathwork, myofascial release, strength and conditioning into my work.
Delivered in a one-on-one or small group format, yoga therapy offers a safe, non-judgmental environment for you to explore your mind and body. Emphasis is placed on moving at your own pace, honouring your boundaries and above all enjoying the practice as you move towards better health.
