I currently offer yoga therapy private sessions at 3 health clinics in Weybridge, Claygate and New Haw, Surrey. Please head to the Contact page to book in for your inital consultation session or to find out more about availability.

YOGA FOR STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING class

 

When: Mondays 6.15pm-7.15pm

These classes are designed to build strength, stability and support in your back, core, hips and shoulders. Each week we will focus on a specific area of the body using yoga postures and exercises designed to develop strength in an accessible, progressive and balanced way.

YOGA FOR over 50s

When: Tuesdays 11am-12pm

These yoga classes are specifically designed to cater for the unique needs of the more mature yoga practitioner. No prior experience is necessary and the practices will be accessible for all abilities, regardless of physical limitations.

All the exercises can be modified for sitting in a chair or standing, if getting up and down off the floor is not suitable. Each week we will focus on a specific aspect of health and well-being – some of the key areas we will cover include:

  • Improving joint health and mobility
  • Enhancing balance, body awareness and confidence
  • Addressing postural imbalances and associated aches, pains and tension
  • Building strength and stamina
  • Getting up and down off the floor (if appropriate)
  • Improving breath patterns to help with energy and stress levels
  • Learning the art of relaxation

Please come dressed in comfortable, light clothing that allows for freedom of movement.

 

 

ARM BALANCE & INVERSIONs beginners workshop

When: Sunday 28th October 12pm-2pm

Where:  Walton-on-Thames Methodist Church, Terrace Rd, Walton-on-Thames, Surrey KT12 2SR

Arm balances and inversion poses can seem intimidating, unrealistic or down-right scary! This playful workshop is designed to demystify and break down these poses to help make them fun, accessible and above all safe for nervous first-timers. Designed for all levels of yoga practitioner – come armed with questions, an open-mind and a sense of adventure!

You will learn:

  • The secret to transferring your body weight for maximum lift and lightness
  • The principles of good hand positioning and alignment to keep wrists healthy and aid with balance
  • How props can help make these postures more immediately accessible
  • Strength-training drills for the core and upper body to build your endurance, stamina and confidence
